Starfall.com
Starfall.com is a free on-line service that helps children learn to read. It includes ABC animations, animated interactive books and other reading exercises, and it is primarily aimed and Kindergartner and first grade levels.

MightyBook.com
MightyBook.com is a website that helps children learn to read with stories, songs, jokes, games, and more. This site is very easy to navigate, and the bright colors and adorable characters make it appealing to small children. There are 50 free activities on the home page that can be accessed without registering. If you are interested in registering, a variety of subscription plans are offered which would give you access to over 500 stories and activities.


PBSKids.org
A safe place for kids to explore and play hundreds of fun educational games with their favorite PBS KIDS characters.


Kidsclick.org
Websearch and directory of a variety of topics put together by librarians especially for kids.

Homework Center
Another great directory of a variety of subjects by the Multnomah County Library. Designed for students looking to get more knowledge about specific topics.

Library of Congress
"America's Story from America's Library" wants you to have fun with history while learning at the same time. They put the story back in history and show you some things that you've never heard or seen before. The stuff you see comes from the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. The Library is the largest in the world and has millions of amazing things that will surprise you.

A kid-friendly website where kids can create their own books, post them, and friends and relatives can view and purchase there created stories. Kids can create their own story and scan in their own drawings, or there are story starters and pics that they can use to get their books going.
