How do I create a hot lunch account for my child? A: Please follow these directions to create your Household Hot Lunch account with MealTime Online. Go to: www.mymealtime.com Step 1: Create a MealTime Online parent account. Click on the "Create new account" link and enter a Username and Password that you will use to login to MealTime Online. The Username and Password must be at least 6 characters. For example, Username: jsmith Password: pty845. Please remember these –we do NOT have access to them! Step 2: Add your student. Login to your MealTime Online account (using the Username and Password that you created in Step 1), click on the "Add New Student" link, and add your student by entering their first name and student ID number. The student ID number looks like: 500001234. Be sure you locate the ID number for each child in your household – each child will have a unique ID number. Step 3: Click on the "View Details" link next to your student's name to view their cafeteria account balance and purchase history. The Household Account balance is shared by all the children in your family. Regardless of which child's account reflects funds, all of your children access the Household Account equally. Please put funds on your youngest (1st-5th grader) account. The YOUNGEST child serves as the family banker. The balance should ALWAYS be put on the youngest child. So, as an example, if you have three children it would show up like this on your statement: 5th grader John: $0 balance 3rd grader Sally: $0 balance 1st grader Mary: $150.00 balance THIS IS CORRECT! If you put money on each child the system will SPLIT THE FAMILY....please do NOT do this!is! Q: How do I add money to my hot lunch account? A: There are two ways to add money to your Household account: 1.) Using a credit card, deposit money online at www.mymealtime.com. Money received is credited INSTANTLY! Please note a 4.9% fee will be charged by the MealTime vendor. (So for every $100.00 you will only be charged $104.90.) 2.) Send a check or cash either in your child’s Friday folder or by dropping it by the “hot lunch” box in the office. Please fill out the order form either in the office or download it from the lunch menu. Please remember to put your child’s name on the form & check! Money received will be credited in the Household account by Thursday. Note: check or cash deposits are only made once a week. *We encourage you to write checks for $65 or more. Balances are carried year to year. You will be receiving detailed weekly statements by e mail – please check them! If you are not receiving a weekly balance statement by email please send your e mail to bvehotlunch@yahoo.com.Q: How will my child buy lunch using the hot lunch account? A: A bar-coded picture card will be issued to all students as identification for the system. Students use their card to access their account when paying for meals in the cafeteria. The Electronic Card is kept in the Cafeteria to reduce lost and forgotten cards. Cards are checked at the door by volunteers and our kitchen staff to ensure that the picture on the card and the student match. Please note: if you choose to NOT allow your child to buy hot lunch you may contact us and we will ‘pull’ your child’s card. Do not pull your child’s card on your own – Let us pull your child’s card for our record keeping. Q: What are the Hot Lunch choices?
A: Each day students will have a choice of at least two Hot Lunch Entree items. The cost of each hot entree items is $3.40. Students will also be able to purchase an entree from the Varity Bar( almost always a vegetarian) for $2.90. Salad bar and drink only are $1.90. Smoothies are sold separately on Wednesday’s only for $1.90.
A negative balance is a zero balance or below. Due to the number & frequency of negative balances; we are in the position of “pulling” negative cards from racks. Cards are pulled at 9am on Monday mornings…please note…If your child’s card does get pulled – they may not be able to get hot lunch until the following Monday! Please do not make us the bad guys! Check your balance often.
Please remember that this is a volunteer run program and we do not wait around for you, to get around to paying your bill. Payments made after 9am on Monday will result in a pulled card! Q: What can you do if you have money remaining in your account at the end of the year? A: If you are remaining at Burton Valley then your balance simply "rolls over" to the next year. If you are leaving the school, you have two options:
