topPresident's Message

What a treat to have a whole week off! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving wherever you spent it. I am still feeling so grateful for so many things. This season is packed with activities and events so I hope you can relax, breathe and keep that grateful feeling pulsing through all you do.

Coming up this Monday, Dec. 7th at 1:30 in room 35, is our next Family Forum--Fast Family Dinners. Please come with a recipe, written or in your head, and we'll copy it and send you home with lots of new quick dinners to make during this busy time. Plus you might just make a new friend. Join us even for part of the hour before pick up at 2:30.

As I mentioned at the last PTA meeting, the current State Budget deficit will be effecting our Lafayette School District in the months to come. I'll keep you informed about meetings to attend  so your input can be heard by our hard working School Board members. Our PTA dollars fill the gap in funding created by the State's continued shortfall in money due to education dollars being tied to such inadequate and unstable funding sources.

Thanks for your attention and please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Dana Fillinger Ashburn
PTA President

"Three keys to more abundant living: caring about others,
daring for others, sharing with others."
 - William Arthur Ward

During this holiday season, there are many opportunities to enrich our lives through caring for and sharing with others.  A few of these are listed in the Community Events section:  give a toy, share a warm coat, wrap a present, watch a show...
