PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
This fun time of year is filled with all sorts of music performances and classroom performances of one kind and another as well as some last minute field trips which always remind me of how much care our fantastic teachers put into our kids while still having fun and being creative. We are so lucky to have each and every one of them.
We are sad to say goodbye to Anne Fisher, Cathy Cullom and June Trentacosti who are retiring this year. Talk about wonderful teachers! Together they have a total 54 years of teaching! We had a nice celebration for them on Thursday and thank you to all who stayed after school for popsicles and the brief presentation.
I can't believe it but this is my last President's message. It's been a fun year and I've enjoyed meeting so many people at this wonderful school. As I said at Back to School Night so long ago, "I don't know if I'm the PTA type but here I am as President!" Now I know, without a doubt, there is no "PTA type" only the "volunteer type" and I've found that type to be awfully nice no matter how big or small a job they may sign up for. Thanks to all who gave any amount of themselves even if it was a kind word to someone who could help.
Speaking of great people I have to thank the PTA Board who are a selfless bunch that I was so fortunate to be surrounded by: Leslee Baldwin, TJ Kirke, Carol Spiering, Mandy Curry, Adam Hamalian, Alice Stauffer, Nicole Berzins, Mia Lauritzen, Heather McNally, Angela Ketcham, Lynne McCandless, Julie, D'Amante, Nancy Wilson and Kaisa Lyon. Kaisa will be next year's President and will do a great job in all ways. She is a caring, hard working, wonderful person that you will get to hear from this summer and throughout 2010-2011. Thanks Kaisa for being willing to lead us all next year!
This past year we've been working with LASF and our school district on some important ways to support all of our kids so look for more information later today and over the summer. There are some changes coming up for next year so more than ever we will be directing you to our PTA website, thank you Michael Dawson-website coordinator extraordinaire. Be on the look out for information in the summer packet andmake sure to check email this summer. Also I must thank the wonderful Gina Dawson who has put this Broadcast together week after week with such flare and artistry. We thank you Gina.
Have a wonderful summer break and I thank you for all your ideas, creativity and helpfulness all year long!
